]]> http://altonglass.com/alton-glass/the-confidant/feed/ 0 About The Filmmaker http://altonglass.com/alton-glass/about-the-filmmaker/ http://altonglass.com/alton-glass/about-the-filmmaker/#comments Tue, 21 Sep 2010 05:32:24 +0000 altonglass http://altonglass.com/wordpress/?p=7 At an early age, Alton Glass began working on music videos as a treatment writer and behind-the-scenes camera operator for numerous artists most notably OutKast, Lil Bow Wow, and E-40.  Afterward, he was accepted into the Local 600 Union Training Program – Hollywood Cinema Production, where he studied Cinematography and Camera.  Upon finishing, Glass took it to a whole new level by completing two feature films that would be a precursor to his career in movies.  As a writer, producer, and director, Glass brought to life the independent comedy “The Candy Shop,” starring Omar Gooding and Guillermo Diaz.  This led to being hired to write the prison drama “The Mansfield 12″ for director Craig Ross, Jr., which garnered the prestigious award for Best Screenplay at the 2007 American Black Film Festival in conjunction with HBO.  This esteemed award earned him a $20,000 grand prize.  In 2008, Glass wrapped his third feature film project as writer/director.  A horror-thriller entitled “Marco Polo”.  His current titles are starting to fill the new release walls nationwide.  Recently, he was hired to write and direct his latest thriller entitled “The Confidant”.  Starring Boris Kodjoe, David Banner, Kenya Moore, Bia Ling, and Richard Roundtree.  Next, Glass prepares to embark on another big effort with Tyler Perry Studios on a new 3-part mini-series entitled “Georgia Sky”.  The project is a one-hour teenage drama series based on several best-selling books by author Stephanie Perry-Moore.  Always a step ahead, the sum of Glass’ work in television and films is just the beginning of a talent gathering momentum.
